Brad Lewis

Brad Lewis is a co-founder and field leader of the 501c3 nonprofit, Lengau. He has been teaching high school mathematics for over twenty-five years, the past eighteen at Bainbridge High School where he also serves as the Mathematics Department Head. He started his teaching career with the Peace Corps, where he taught mathematics in Lesotho, Southern Africa. Currently he specializes in teaching AP Statistics, and second year Honors Applied Statistics which he developed with the support of his school district. Brad earned his Master Degree in Education, Mathematics Instruction, from the University of Washington, and recently completed his Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics from Penn State University. Brad Lewis has over a decade experience creating, developing, and leading three-week student trips to authentic research facilities throughout the world. The focus of these trips are to provide learning opportunities for students interested in environmental sciences and statistics in real-world setting. The curriculum and applied learning experiences are focused on animal conservation efforts, environmental science topics, UNESCO Biodiversity applications, climate science implications, and global health solutions. Currently Brad leads trips to the Lajuma Research Center, South Africa and the Hoja Nueva Research Center, Peru. He is also the proud father of his two amazing sons, Cole and Quin. He is sincerely thankful that they have been willing and able to follow him around the globe while conducting research on animal and environmental conservation efforts.
